Ashley Jungjohan is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Midwife (LM). She is trained in newborn resuscitation. (NRP), basic life support (BLS), trauma-informed care, birth emergency skills, resolving shoulder dystocia, spinning babies, and most recently, functional maternity care. She began caring for women and babies in 2018 as a birth and postpartum doula and started her midwifery studies with Mercy in Action College of Midwifery in 2020. Ashley graduated from Mercy in Action College of Midwifery with her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in 2023. After graduation, she continued as a staff midwife at West Michigan Midwifery, a practice near Grand Rapids, MI, for a year. She is excited to be able to practice in Kalamazoo, MI, where she has lived with her family for the last 12 years. Ashley continues to work as a Clinical Administrative Project Assistant/Teacher's Assistant with Mercy in Action College of Midwifery, staying involved in midwifery education and training. She recently participated in the training and teaching of Helping Mothers and Babies Survive programs in Boise, ID, and believes in improving maternal and newborn birth outcomes on a local, regional, and global scale. Ashley is married to John, and together, they have five children whom they have homeschooled. She enjoys nature walks, camping, beach trips, theater, and spending time with friends and family.
